From small beginnings as a family of four, the Yard Barbours Inc. have grown to employ an average of 20-30 seasonal employees and a minimum or 10 full-time staff members. The business is made up of several divisions, including, lawn mowing, turf care, weed control, irrigation installation and maintenance, garden ponds, landscape design and installation, tree and shrub care and snow removal. The customer base is 90% commercial and 10% residential. For the 2009 season 90% of total customers have been with the company for over 4 years and 75% of the total customers have been with the company for over 9 years. Customer satisfaction is a crucial element in The Yard Barbours Inc. work philosophy.

Matthew Barbour

Married to Alicia since 2007, Matt Barbour is a 2003 graduate of Eagle
Christian High School, Missoula, Montana. From 2002-2003, Matt completed an
apprenticeship with Percifield's Radiator Shop in Auto-mechanics. In 2005, Matt completed training to become a certified specialist in Rain Bird Irrigation Technology.

In 2009, Matt became a licensed ICPI Hardscape Contractor. Matt continues education in landscape and irrigation through Rain Bird and Purdue University.

Paul Barbour

Married to Nancy since 1980, Paul Barbour is a 1974 graduate of
Seymour High School. Paul attended Purdue University from 1974-1976
where he studied forestry and is a 1987 graduate of IUPUI (Columbus)
with an associate’s degree in Electronics. Paul continues to take classes and hold applicators licenses through State of Indiana Chemist and Purdue University.

Prior to founding The Yard Barbours Inc., Paul was employed at Cummins
Engine/Electronics from 1977-1995.
